Nigerian singer Mr. P has released the
official music video for his latest single, “Chukwu Mee,” a
faith-filled Afro-gospel record that celebrates gratitude, perseverance, and
the power of divine intervention.
Directed by ID Directions, the “Chukwu
Mee” video brings the song’s message of thanksgiving to life through vibrant
performances, traditional Igbo imagery, choir harmonies, and stylish cultural
elements.
Translating from Igbo as “God Did It,”
“Chukwu Mee” is a heartfelt song of praise and thanksgiving in which Mr. P
reflects on the challenges he has overcome, the doubts and scepticism he has
faced, and the important role faith has played in his journey.
The singer also touches on silent prayers, patience,
perseverance, and trusting the process, captured in the recurring message of “no
rush, no force.”
Produced with upbeat percussion and uplifting choir
harmonies, the song carries a celebratory Afro-gospel sound that perfectly
complements the visual treatment.
The music video moves between polished studio
performances, church gatherings, traditional Igbo settings, and lively social
celebrations, creating a colourful visual representation of the song’s message.
Mr. P makes a stylish entrance in an oversized cream
double-breasted suit paired with a matching fedora. He later switches into a
brown vest over dark tailoring, accessorised with gold chains, before embracing
traditional Igbo fashion in a black Isiagu top, a red Okpu
Agu cap, dark sunglasses, and an Akupe hand fan.
Traditional dancers dressed in checkered blue outfits
join Mr. P during the cultural sequences, while a choir dressed in flowing
off-white robes adds powerful visual and musical energy to the performance.
The video also features women dressed in fascinators,
pearls, and elegant evening wear, waving handkerchiefs and dancing through
scenes that capture the atmosphere of a joyful celebration.
Throughout the visual, “Chukwu Mee”
remains rooted in its central message of faith and gratitude—looking back at
the challenges you have survived, recognising how far you have come, and simply
acknowledging that God did it.
